that's right, clinton is fighting on two fronts now but the battle against trump is her top priority, underscoring that point, nbc news has learned this morning that for the first time, the clinton campaign is expanding its general election team at its brooklyn headquarters, adding new staffers and giving some of their standouts bigger roles. those headquarters now ground zero for taking out the presumptive gop nominee. it's the fall fight in sharp focus, hillary clinton and donald trump. no holds barred. >> this, to me, a classic case of a blustering, bullying guy who has knocked out of the way all the republicans, because they were just dumbfounded. >> reporter: trump, flooding the airwaves after clinching the nomination wednesday. >> i think hillary will be easier to beat than many of the senators, governors, et cetera, that we just were victorious over. >> trying to make voters fear the businessman. >> he is a loose canon and loose

about the other side. hillary clinton has talked more policies than donald trump. name a policy she's talked about that really broke through to you, i usually ask people. i don't think she's done it so far. i don't think donald trump will want to make it a referendum on hillary clinton or bill clinton. >> in terms of try iing to coalesce and get the republican party to back him up, has it been that lukewarm acceptance or now with our nbc news/wall street journal poll, trump is within 11 points, perhaps, of a hillary clinton matchup there. as that gets closer, do republicans need to back him up? >> he needs to coalesce the republican party. peter alexander reported since the two bush presidents are not for him, that's not good. but reach out to people in the general election. coalescing the republican party doesn't get you to the white house. those are two tough things to do for a guy who has never run before. >> as you look to the future you can learn a lot from the past.
